Ramriddlz, Mr Ram Rod or as he is formally known Ramy Abdel-Rahman; is definitely one of the leaders of the new school Toronto sound. An Egyptian-Canadian, Ramriddlz really embraces the Dancehall influences of Toronto with the sound of this Venis EP, much like he did with the P2P EP before this.

As I said in my initial paragraph, the sound of Venis is truly Caribbean. This really fits his style and although the EP is laced with autotune his use is unorthodox much like a Young Thug per se. I could really see Ramriddlz working well with UK artists who work well in this box like; J Hus, J Spades and Geko.
Going back in time to 2015, much of the subject matter of P2P didn’t really stray too far away from drugs and sex. If you are expecting something vastly different on Venis, well, you are not going to get it. Fans of Ramriddlz will love this project, it’s his comical selection of words and vibrant delivery which makes him entertaining to listen to.
“My ding-a-ling swing make your pumpum sing“(Come C Mi Ft. Justine Skye).
For me, the clear standout track of the Venis EP is Left Right. In my eyes, if he made a video for this song it could really Tek Off. Why? “Tropical ass beats make you feel like you’re in Jamaica or some sh*t“. Ramriddlz doesn’t seem to be so focussed on videos at this point though to my knowledge he’s only made one for the Drake remixed song Sweeterman.
Ramriddlz doesn’t really fit into a genre box(although categorised as Hip Hop/ Rap on iTunes) and I’ve noticed some sprinkles of his style here and there with other artists (e.g. Drake – Controlla).
He’s Two EP’s deep now so hopefully, on his next project (album?) he dives deeper into his story and has some dancehall collaborations (Alkaline?) “AWWWW”
