The Four Agreements is a New York bestselling book from the Mexican author Don Miguel Ruiz. This book was originally published in 1997 and at the very heart of it is Toltec wisdom and a near death experienced Ruiz in his life.
This short and easily digestible book is one which I regularly refer to in order to remain grounded in life. Repetition of these agreements on a daily basis has really helped me to alter my approaches to better deal with challenges.
In addition to the above, the book in my eyes acting with a greater level of consciousness.
My #BitesizedTakeaways:
As this is such a short book the #BitesizedTakeaways are quite simply the four agreements themselves.
Although, I have supplemented these agreements with specific quotes from their respective chapters which help to bring these agreements to life:
- Be Impeccable With Your Word – “Your word can create the most beautiful dream or your word can destroy everything around you”
- Don’t Take Anything Personally – “When you take things personally, you feel offended and your reaction is to defend your beliefs and create conflicts”
- Don’t Make Assumptions – “The way to keep yourself from making assumptions is to ask questions. Make sure the communication is clear”
- Always Do Your Best – “If you do your best always, over and over again, you will become a master of transformation. Practice makes the master”
If you are looking for easy to apply book which you can take forward straight away this is the one.
