The 2022 ‘For The Mindset Playlist #Top10Top50’ and ‘For The Mindest Mixes’ End Of Year Wrap Up

Another year another wrap-up. In 2019 you got the introduction of mixes and in 2020 you also got Youtube Videos and we will continue that in 2022 (see 2021)! This continues the legacy dating back to 2016 where there was a US and UK music split (2018 in 2017(US, and UK2016 (UK and US).

Ok, cool story bro but I’m new here, what’s this even about?

Throughout the year I listen to a stupid amount of music which leads to me shaping the overall views of artists and projects they deliver. In some instances, I share these views with you through my reviews/ Instagram posts. At the point of these end of year posts, I challenge myself to sum up my top artists in under 100 words each and curate a playlist and as a mix in collaboration with DJ Eaasy_E (at the bottom of the post or directly below this)

UK Music

1. Central Cee

Central Cee’s wave hit new heights in 2022 with his international tours going crazy. He really made drill something the states took serious from the UK . Watch my review of 23 below!

2. Knucks

Knucks delivered an album very early on which really for me gave us the drill sound with production and storytelling which most can’t do. It brought me right into his surroundings and community.

3.Rimzee

Rimzee for me this year really took the streets and put it in a headlock the work ethic was crazy. The project was a great improvement on that he delivered before really gets you motivated!

4. Kojey Radical

Out of all of the 5 artists in this UK list, I honestly feel like Kojey had the best body of work in terms of an all-around polished project. It was the first project of his I’d listened to and it’s great!

5. K-Trap

K-Trap for me in 2022 ran Drill with two projects which shook up the industry. The Last Whip II was the best drill project of the year hands down full of crud from top to bottom.

Overseas Music

1. Drake

It really was a shakey start for me with Drake with honestly nevermind getting the worst review from me this year. After that though and him and 21 Savage delivered on of the most venomous projects with huge replay value!

2. Pusha T

I feel like a lot of people overlooked how great and fat-free this Pusha-T album was. It really was cocaine caviar as I really like to describe his subject and delivery. The production here was outstanding too.

3. Gunna
Gunna really delivered a project which is his most polished body of work for me. This wasn’t just trap, this wasn’t just drugs, this was him pouring out emotion and showing us why he’s a top dog.  Its a shame what has happened with the whole YSL label but that aside this album was great.

4. Kendrick Lamar

For me, he delivered what we had been waiting for. This is brought to life even more with his live performance. Culturally and emotionally moving from start to finish.

5. J.I.D

The critique that some lazy listeners throw at Kendrick’s album is it’s not lit or hype enough. J.I.D for me delivers everything Kendrick does from a cultural and emotional standpoint here with a whole load of energic hip beats! Album of the year for me across the board

I think that’s enough for now! so listen in and let me know your thoughts!
